Event Marketing in Kansas City

Event Marketing in Kansas City - Do you ever wonder how some people manage to get hundreds of people to an event when you struggle sometimes to get 15 people to a birthday party? It's all in the marketing baby! You need to take the time to come up with a strategy and a concept keeping in mind the purpose of the event in every step of the way.

Check out this invite I received  to a birthday party recently. It's a printout of a "passport" with each person's picture clipped onto it with details of the menu, "We will serve cake, ice cream & appetizers." The plane ticket has all the details of the party, the where, the when and who to call if you have to miss the "flight". Do you put this much thought into hosting a party? If not, it could explain the attendance. When an event is well marketed and executed, it ranks head and shoulders above other events and attendees can see it immediately in the marketing. I can guarantee you, I immediately put this party date on my calendar so as to not miss it! If the invitations are this amazing, imagine what the party will be like!

Don't skimp on your marketing planning and ideas. Before you begin anything, develop a good operational course of action with a solid marketing plan that has a consistant message. Filter every detail through these two lenses and check and recheck all your details consistantly and you will end up with a successful event!

As always, if you have any marketing questions, we would be happy to talk with you!

Marketing with Video Sharing Sites

Marketing with Video Sharing Sites can feel foreign to you with the contemporary success of YouTube and other video sharing sites like vimeo et al. After all, small business owners like you have hardly had time to learn the caveats and nuances of social media marketing, blogging and other progressive forms of digital marketing up to this point. It can be overwhelming at times, but just keep learning a little bit more every day, and you will get there. Of course, as my mentor Knuckles always said, "A good business owner knows a lot about a lot in business, but not everything, and he always knows when to hire out."

Take time to learn about video sharing sites and marketing through them because most people age 18-49 are on them, and if you deem it beneficial learn how to implement the strategies yourelf or hire it out. With video marketing, try making a video and posting it to YouTube. Always optimize your videos. See an example of a video here. Learn how to share it with a few trusted others to get their opinion, and learn about sharing through other forms of media, like Facebook or Twitter. Keep your videos around 2 minutes or under and make sure you have a good microphone.

Basic Marketing in Olathe & Online

Basic marketing in Olathe & Online - as found on Dictionary.com.

mar·ket·ing

[mahr-ki-ting] Show IPA
noun
1.
the act of buying or selling in a market.
2.
the total of activities involved in the transfer of goods from the producer or seller to the consumer or buyer, including advertising, shipping, storing, and selling.

I love the 2nd definition that basically says marketing is everything from taking it from the producer's hands and putting it into the consumer's hands. That's a pretty big job! Big jobs need good plans in order to execute them well. Yes, you need to put some thought into marketing. You can have the best product or service in your area, with the best prices, but if you can't get your wares into peoples hands or homes then you're fiddling your thumbs with not enough work.

Don't expect customers to bust down your door demanding what you sell. Be proactive in procuring sales that will pay your salary and keep you in business. What can you do today, this week and this month to make a difference in your sales immediately? Notice the word do in that last sentence? You can't just plan it, you have to execute it well also, so be ready to work. Ifyou have questions about marketing, drop us a email or comment.

Marketing With Pinterest

Are you thinking about marketing with Pinterest because you see other businesses doing it? Well that's all fine and dandy as long as the Pinterest demographics and your client demographics line up. Compare your client demographics to the Pinterest demographics below, and see if makes sense for you to spend time or money towards it.

Did you know that Pinterest is made up mostly of adult females (82%) that have a household income of $25,000-$100,000.  61% of Pinterest ladies have some college and 25% of them have a Bachelors degree or higher, which means a whopping 86% of Pinterest users are at a level of some college or above. If you market to highschool males, then Pinterest is not where you need to concentrate in your marketing plan. These are the things you need to think about when budgeting your money for marketing expenses.

As always, we are happy to answer any small business marketing questions you have.
